i am a lecturer from international islamic university malaysia, will be on sabbatical starting from 10 november 2009 till 15 february 2010. for the first months my husband and 4 children 1 infant are joining me, after which my eldest and youngest daughter will stay until febr. please tell me if we can rent your house and the price asked. i will be attached to faculty of humanities vuw. is vuw nearby to ur place.
Our home is a 100 years old this year. It is one of the original houses of this area designed by an architect for an original settler. In previous years the land on the south side was a tennis court, and the north an orchard. The master bedroom was heated with a fire as was the dining and drawing room. The drawing room is an interesting word as it came from the activity of the dinners of 'withdrawing' from the dining room to sip brandy and relax after eating. We are in the process of returning this room to its original condition. Their are five bedrooms and the outside studio room you will see was the coal house in part and wash house in the other half. I can still remember as a child the coal being delivered and shoveled into the coal room through a small separated door.
This blog is a living diary of the evolving work of Farquhar & Friends. It showcases where we come from and where we going to. There is no arrival, the accomplishment is in the journey.
